Spore Genetics: Exceptional Mushroom Spores & Cultures SPORE GENETICS - EXCEPTIONAL MUSHROOM SPORES & CULTURES (2024)

Embark on a Journey into the Fascinating World of Mushroom Spores

Have you ever thought about cultivating or studying your own Psilocybin mushrooms?
Truth be told, before being offered the opportunity to review Spore Genetics Psilocybin Mushroom Spores, I had never grown a mushroom of any kind or really even thought about it. I’ve been fascinated with mushrooms all of my life, but never imagined I would ever attempt to cultivate them. I have to ask myself now, why did I wait so long to consider it?

Having a trusted and reliable source of spores or cultures to cultivate and study Psilocybin Cubensis Mushroom Spores is number one on the list of necessities to be successful. The last thing a cultivator needs is to spend all of that time and energy, only to realize the spores or cultures were contaminated, or not viable to begin with. Spore Genetics turned out to be the trusted and reliable source to start my cultivating.

SG Labs’ extensive array of spore syringes are packed full of millions of organic spores, and thoroughly tested for contaminants. They suspend them in a proprietary solution for optimal viewing as you can see in the photo. The photo shows the spores floating around in the liquid. Some are in clumps, so it needs to be shaken up before inoculation to get them dispersed evenly in the liquid. Not all spores will be black like these, some will be harder to see. You may not believe there are spores in there, but rest assured they are there and ready for action.

Everything I needed to begin inoculation of the spores was provided in the box, including needles, and alcohol prep pads to ensure everything was wiped down and sanitary.
With substrate jars provided by Midwest Grow Kits, I began my cultivation journey by inoculating the spores into the jars following the guidelines for a still air environment and sanitary wipe downs. Each syringe had 10 CC’s of solution, which was plenty for several inoculations. I only used a small portion of them for the initial run.

Within a couple of weeks I was on my way, and very relieved to see mycelium growth in the jars. This provided proof that the spore solutions were viable and not contaminated.

Following all of the necessary steps, the mycelium covered substrate cakes in the jars were removed and placed into the Ultimate Mushroom Growing & Incubator kit from Midwest Grow Kits to begin the fruiting stage. It did not take long before things started happening. I was beyond excited to see my mushrooms begin growing out of the substrate cakes.

Pretty quickly the cakes became covered with healthy beautiful mushrooms and I began my first flush (Harvest) of Blue Meanie Cubensis and Tidal Wave.

FAQs

Which is better liquid culture syringe or spore syringe? ›

With spore syringes, there's always a risk of contamination, which can ruin your entire batch. Liquid culture eliminates this risk by providing a sterile and controlled environment for the mycelium to grow. While spore syringes are cheaper than liquid culture, they can be less cost-effective in the long run.

How much spore syringe to use? ›

We recommend to use about 10 - 20 ml – that is 1 - 2 syringes - for small bags (2,5 L content). For larger bags (4,5 L content) we recommend to use 20 - 30 ml spore solution – that is 2 - 3 spore syringes. ATTENTION: Should the needle get in contact with any unsterile material, you will have to heat-sterilize it.

What is the difference between mycelium and spores? ›

Mycelium is the feeding stage of the mushroom, and it can grow for years, even decades, under the right conditions. In short, mushroom spores are the reproductive cells of the mushroom, while mycelium is the vegetative, nutrient-absorbing stage of the mushroom's life cycle.

What can a spore print tell you about a mushroom? ›

What do you inject mushroom spores into? ›

Mushroom spores suspended in sterile water inside of a syringe are called spore syringes. Both can be used to cultivate mushrooms by injecting a portion of the syringe into a sterilized grain bag which colonizes and can then be transferred to sterile substrates such as manure, straw, or sawdust.

Can mycelium grow in a spore syringe? ›

Spore sowing is the method by which spores are introduced into a sterile environment to promote mycelium growth. Spore syringes can be used to inject directly into the substrate or culture media such as grains or agar.

What to do with a mushroom syringe? ›

Expunge half of the water from the syringe into the glass. Draw the spore water back into the syringe. At this point, you should notice that the water has become slightly discoloured and you may even be able to see some floating clusters of spores. This spore water can then be used to inoculate your growing medium.
