Our Student Life teams provide assistance and guidance to students about their wellbeing and university life including support and reasonable adjustments to manage your own educational and personal progression. Our specialist staff are pleased to talk to all students and staff about any issue relating to student support, wellbeing and experience.All our teams are commited to supporting you in being successful in your academic studies, personal development and to empower you to make the most of your experiences at university. We encourage students to talk to us for advice and guidance at the earliest opportunity to prevent an issue becoming overwhelming and to share with us if they have concerns about another student.

Thesupport disabled, dyslexic or neurodiverse students, students with a mental health condition, and those with a chronic (12+ months) medical conditions. They work to remove barriers to enable them to achive their full academic and social potential.

Student Life Directorate - Royal Holloway Student Intranet? ›

You cannot progress to the next year of study or complete your degree until you have retaken the failed assessments and passed the necessary modules. In 2024 the Summer Vacation Assessment Period (SV-AP) is: 19th – 30th August (UG and PGT In-person and online Exams) 2nd – 6th September (PGT Online exams only)

What happens if you fail a module exam? ›

If you have more than 30 credits of failure (after resits), the whole academic year must be repeated. If you have fewer than 30 credits of failure, the exam board may allow you to continue onto your next year of study.

Does Royal Holloway accept resits? ›

Repeat marks are not capped. First Sit (undergraduates) / Uncapped Resit – (postgraduates) – This means that you can retake (or take if you didn't complete them the first time) the assessments that were affected by approved Extenuating Circ*mstances, but cannot attend the teaching again.

How many credits can I fail in Rhul? ›

If you have failed more than 30 credits (undergraduate) or 40 credits (postgraduate) then you will have to wait to complete resits in the next academic year. Repeats: As repeats require students to engage in teaching activities these cannot take place until the next academic year.

If you generally do well in your degree but fail a particularly tough module in your third year, you won't have enough credit to graduate. However, some universities will still allow you to graduate, but your degree will be without honours.
